I wasn't able to find email addresses (or at least ones that worked) for the people involved in the actual brain "mapping." I did find another article with more details on the scanning methods used. "Finally, he was attached to 32 electrodes and shown pictures and words associated with the crime. His brain responses were noted down during this brain mapping test." I've seen this method many times before, though not in actual practice. I honestly don't know the pros and cons of the method. It seems to me though that most anything would be better than polygraph.

They're using EEG, and have apparently been doing it for quite a while in India, claiming a 99.99% accuracy rate and also claiming the FBI is using it to convict people. There are quite a few major criminal cases in the Indian press that mention the use of "brain-mapping" as well as polygraph and truth serum interrogations. I'm collecting links; have a look at some of the articles in my del.icio.us links: http://del.icio.us/kiume_tree/kasliwal_case

Good stuff,
I do wonder how they are figure out that "99.99% accuracy rate"
I had also run across a number of other examples in India but hadn't heard of any "real" use of it in the U.S. but I guess its not surprising the government is using it.
