
So it looks like there's a way of stimuliating the vestibular system of people by remote control which indicates which way they should go.
There's just one snag. If you want to be guided blindfolded round obstacles by someone holding a remote control, you'll have to tilt your head back or forward. If your head is upright, the same electrical stimulus will simply make you fall over.
This story made me think of the
real life Pac-Man that people were playing in cities - perhaps they should add these remote controls to the mix.

It could be used in VR simulations and for helping with motion sickness.
In driving simulators a big problem we have is that people get sick pretty easily. Wonder how hard it would be to get going in the simulator?

It might not be too hard, but it's always easier to implement the old standard "shake the dude's seat" trick. Mess up the vestibular system with random noise, and you don't notice the slight problems with the simulator anymore.
